The Ariyana Convention Centre (ACC) successfully hosted a range of APEC events within the recent APEC Summit in the central city of Da Nang. Within just one week, it set a record in welcoming some 15,000 delegates attending the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC), the Vietnam Business Summit (VBS), and the CEO Summit. The CEO Summit, held at ACC, attracted 2,100 delegates; an impressive figure compared to previous CEO Summits held in the Philippines in 2015 and Peru in 2016, which welcomed 1,100 and 800 delegates, respectively.
During the APEC Week in Vietnam, about 80 per cent of events, including major events and associated meetings, took place at the ACC and the Furama Resort Danang
The CEO Summit from November 8 to 11 attracted 2,100 delegates.
The ACC was officially opened in mid-October in the presence of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and successfully catered to the APEC Week.
On November 7, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc also presided over the opening ceremony of the Vietnam Business Summit, organized by VCCI, which attracted more than 1,700 attendees in the main hall of the ACC.
The APEC Week was the first international event held at the ACC, with the center leaving a positive impression regarding its arrangements and professional services just three weeks after opening.
The ACC is considered an architectural highlight of Da Nang, with a green space of tropical gardens filled with flowers and located on the shores of one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, boasting spectacular ocean views.
The ceilings in its rooms are covered in colors that harmonize different types of lighting, meeting the lighting standards required by the Vietnam’s APEC National Committee. According to the owner of the ACC, its state-of-art equipment such as sound systems and lighting systems were carefully selected prior to installation.
The ACC’s convention hall and conference rooms are separated from the outside by a wooden panel of nearly 1,000 sq m, which was customized for the ACC by Italy’s Chimento Designer. Sophisticated techniques guaranteeing high precision were used in producing wicker-walled logs. The harmonious combination of wood, mirrors, and fabric and brilliant crystal chandeliers create a luxurious ambience.
Furama Resort Danang, Furama Villas Danang, and the ACC have more than 1,000 luxurious rooms and suites and bars and restaurants, creating the largest MICE destination in Vietnam on the shores of one of the world’s most beautiful beaches.
With the experience from hosting APEC 2017 and APEC 2006, the ACC and Furama Resort Danang once again affirmed their leading position in Vietnam’s hospitality sector, helping Da Nang and Vietnam raise their profile and prestige in the eyes of international guests.
