Korean Air adds daily flight from Busan to Da Nang

South Korea’s flagship carrier Korea Air Lines Co. added a new daily flight connecting the southern city of Busan to the Vietnamese port city of Da Nang to meet growing demand for the hot new tourist destination.

The airline said Monday the new Busan-Da Nang route will be serviced daily on the Boeing 737-900 that seats 159 passengers.

The flight takes off from Gimhae International Airport in Busan at 9:25 p.m. and arrives in Da Nang the next day at 12:20 a.m. The return flight departs from Da Nang at 2:45 a.m. and arrives in Busan at 8:30 a.m.

Da Nang is a major commercial port in Central Vietnam that has become a popular tourist destination among Koreans, with its year-round warm temperatures that average 23 degrees Celsius (75 degrees Fahrenheit) in winter.

Some of its major attractions include Hoi An, an ancient trading port town that is also a Unesco World Heritage site, and Ba Na Hills, a resort perched 1,500 meters above sea level that boasts the world’s longest non-stop cable car. Hue, Vietnam’s last imperial capital of the Nguyen dynasty, is also a two-hour drive from Da Nang.

Korean Air Lines operates 11 more international flights from Busan, including to Osaka, Bangkok and Beijing.
