The 4th Da Nang Asian Film Festival – DANAFF IV 2026 officially takes place from June 28 to July 4, 2026 in Da Nang City under the theme “Nhịp cầu từ Châu Á ra thế giới – Bridging Asia to the World”. Co-organized by the People’s Committee of Da Nang City and the Vietnam Association for Film Promotion and Development, the event continues to affirm Da Nang’s position as a dynamic destination for culture, cinema, tourism and the creative industry in the region.
This year, DANAFF IV 2026 brings together 102 cinematic works, approximately 200 screenings and more than 1,000 delegates, artists, filmmakers, cinema experts and guests from Vietnam and abroad. The Opening Ceremony takes place on the evening of June 28, 2026, while the Closing and Awards Ceremony will be held on the evening of July 4, 2026 at Ariyana Convention Centre Danang, 107 Vo Nguyen Giap, Ngu Hanh Son Ward, Danang.
The red-carpet programs for the Opening Ceremony and Closing Ceremony will take place from 6:30 PM to 7:45 PM and will be livestreamed on VTVgo, VTV Prime, ON Live TV, ON Plus, VietNamNet Newspaper Fanpage and ON Live Fanpage. The Opening Ceremony begins at 8:00 PM and will be broadcast live on VTV1 – Vietnam Television; the Closing and Awards Ceremony begins at 8:00 PM and will be broadcast live on VTV8.
DANAFF IV 2026 brings Asian cinema together in Da Nang
After three editions, the Da Nang Asian Film Festival has gradually built its own identity, becoming a reputable film event where filmmakers, artists, experts and cinema lovers gather, exchange ideas and connect through the language of images.
DANAFF IV 2026 is shaped around four main pillars: honoring outstanding new cinematic works from Asian and Vietnamese cinema; celebrating film heritage; discovering, nurturing and supporting young cinematic talents; and connecting and expanding the Vietnamese film market to the region and the world.

Within the framework of the film festival, audiences will enjoy works across various categories, including Asian Films in Competition, Vietnamese Films in Competition, Panorama of Asian Cinema, Spotlight on American Cinema and the program Vietnamese Cinema: 40 Years of Đổi Mới. In addition, seminars, workshops, masterclasses, Script Lab and DANAFF Industry Days continue to expand DANAFF’s role as a platform connecting cinema, creativity and the cultural industry.
International stars arrive in Da Nang, lighting up the DANAFF IV red carpet
One of the highlights drawing special attention from the public and media at DANAFF IV 2026 is the appearance of renowned artists, directors, producers and cinema experts from Vietnam and around the world.
Korean actor Ji Chang Wook, a representative face of the Hallyu wave, will attend DANAFF IV, promising to create strong appeal for this year’s red carpet. In addition, the presence of Jung Il Woo, Park Sung Woong, Han Dong Hee and many other outstanding names further demonstrates DANAFF’s growing influence within the regional film community.

DANAFF IV 2026 also welcomes influential figures in world cinema such as Jane Seymour, Bill Mechanic, Johnnie To and Kim Dong Ho. The gathering of both veteran figures and contemporary artists not only heightens the excitement of the red-carpet nights, but also helps bring the image of Da Nang closer to cinema lovers across the region and the world.

From selected films and special screenings to exchange activities and moments when stars appear on the red carpet, DANAFF IV 2026 promises to deliver a brilliant, emotional and internationally integrated week of cinema in the coastal city of Da Nang.
An emotional opening ceremony, launching a vibrant week of cinema
Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF), opened the festival by affirming that Da Nang, from an attractive tourism destination, is gradually positioning itself as a regional creative cultural hub where tourism, art, cinema and the event industry intersect to create new values. In its fourth edition, DANAFF is not only a film festival, but also an international space for filmmakers, artists and the public to meet, exchange and cooperate on the foundation of humanistic values. Through cinema, Da Nang has more opportunities to enhance its destination appeal, increase its competitive advantages in the region and affirm its role as a city of international cultural and artistic events. The event is also expected to continue contributing to Vietnam’s integration with the world while spreading the image of a dynamic, creative, friendly and ambitious Da Nang.

At the opening ceremony, Dr. Ngo Phuong Lan stated that Asian cinema is increasingly affirming its important position on the world cinema map, as stories from the region not only reflect distinctive cultural identities but also touch upon humanistic values. DANAFF IV is built upon four major directions: honoring outstanding achievements of contemporary Asian and Vietnamese cinema; treasuring cinematic heritage through specialized programs; nurturing young talents through activities such as Talent Incubator, Project Market and Script Lab; and expanding film industry connections through DANAFF Industry Days. She emphasized that in Da Nang – the city of bridges, DANAFF also carries the spirit of a “cinematic bridge”, connecting the past with the future, talent with opportunity, Vietnamese cinema with Asian cinema and Asia with the world. According to her, the connections created through cinema will continue to be lasting and bring people closer together.

Speaking at DANAFF IV 2026, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra highly appreciated the efforts of the Vietnam Association for Film Promotion and Development, Da Nang City, together with the community of artists and filmmakers, in building DANAFF into a creative connection point, nurturing young talents and promoting film cooperation in the region. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the event is a vivid testament to the consistent policy of the Party and State in considering culture as the spiritual foundation of society, an endogenous resource, soft power and a driving force for sustainable development.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that cinema is not only an art form, but also a cultural industry with great potential, contributing to promoting the image of Vietnam and its people while creating new momentum for national development in the era of integration. For Vietnamese cinema to continue developing and for DANAFF to further elevate its position, it is necessary to continue improving mechanisms, unlocking resources, creating a favorable environment for talent, creativity, technology and integration; while also building a cinema ecosystem connected with culture, tourism and the creative industry, turning Da Nang into a reputable destination for international film events.
In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister also called for continued efforts to inspire the creative aspirations of artists and filmmakers, so that more works rich in ideological, artistic and Vietnamese cultural values can be created, with the ability to win over audiences both at home and abroad. Alongside this, it is important to build a civilized community of cinema lovers who respect intellectual property rights and accompany the sustainable development of Vietnamese cinema.
