HORECFEX Vietnam Officially Kicks Off – “Future Vision” Unveils a New Technology Ecosystem for the HORECA Industry

On July 23, 2026, the press conference announcing HORECFEX Vietnam 2026 was held at Ariyana Convention Centre Danang, officially launching the journey towards one of Vietnam’s most notable forums for technology, innovation and supply solutions in the hospitality and tourism industry.

Under the press conference theme “Future Vision”, HORECFEX Vietnam 2026 delivered a clear message: the future of the HORECA industry is no longer a distant concept. Artificial intelligence, smart glasses, VR/360 technology and robots are gradually becoming part of every touchpoint across hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism and event operations.

Technology Moves Beyond Exhibition Booths and Into Real-World Operations

Unlike a conventional technology showcase, the HORECFEX Vietnam 2026 press conference was designed as a live demonstration model. The solutions were not only presented on stage but were also integrated throughout the experience journey of guests and media representatives.

One of the key highlights was Rokid smart glasses, used as a “press pass” for the AI era. The device enabled journalists to capture first-person footage, follow subtitles, receive directions and access real-time multilingual translation.

Through integration with artificial intelligence platforms, smart glasses can also help users quickly access schedules, statistics and speaker information without leaving the event space. The technology offers significant potential for front desk services, customer care, staff training, presentations and communication with international visitors.

Mr. Pham Ngoc Loi, Director of Information Technology and Innovation at HORECFEX Vietnam, shared: “The future is no longer ahead of us—it is already within everyone’s field of vision. In hospitality, technology is not intended to replace people. Instead, it helps people see faster, understand more deeply and deliver more thoughtful service.”

VR/360 Technology Eliminates Geographical Barriers

Alongside smart glasses, Meta Quest 3 was used to recreate event spaces through virtual reality and 360-degree content.

At the experience area, guests could virtually “step into” spaces at Ariyana Convention Centre Danang and Furama Villas through immersive tours. The technology allowed customers to preview guest rooms, villas, conference halls, stages and event layout options before making a decision.

For hospitality and MICE businesses, VR/360 technology can support sales activities, reduce the cost of on-site inspections, shorten decision-making processes and expand access to international customers. At the same time, mixed reality technology opens up new approaches to staff training across front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, and operational safety departments.

Through digital mapping ecosystems and virtual spaces, Da Nang can also be positioned as a “living laboratory” for smart tourism solutions, where interaction data can become a valuable source of insights for marketing, business development and destination management.

AI Robots and Their Emerging Roles in Hospitality and Tourism

The AI robotics ecosystem was one of the areas attracting the greatest attention at the press conference.

The Unitree Robotics robot dog was introduced through scenarios involving security patrols, large-area monitoring, rescue assistance and access to high-risk terrain. It represented the concept of “Physical AI,” in which robots perform repetitive, hazardous or continuously required tasks.

Meanwhile, the OrionStar reception robot can communicate in more than 30 languages, proactively welcome guests, provide information and guide visitors to their intended destinations. This solution is particularly suitable for hotel lobbies, resorts and convention centres welcoming large numbers of international guests.

The KEENON service robot was deployed directly during the reception following the press conference, transporting drinks and dishes to guests’ tables. Integrating robots into the service process clearly demonstrated how automation can support F&B operations, reduce manual tasks and allow employees to focus more on the customer experience.

The three robot models represented three important areas within the HORECA industry: security and safety, reception and communication, and F&B operations. Their shared purpose is not to replace employees but to enable people to devote more time to emotion, creativity and genuine hospitality.

“ALL YOU NEED” – A Comprehensive Ecosystem for the HORECA Industry

Following the technology experiences introduced at the press conference, HORECFEX Vietnam 2026 will officially take place on August 20–21, 2026, at Ariyana Convention Centre Danang.

Under the message “ALL YOU NEED – Knowledge, Technology, Supply and Connections”, the event aims to build a comprehensive ecosystem for hotels, resorts, restaurants, F&B businesses, tourism enterprises and event organisers.

Under the knowledge pillar, HORECFEX Vietnam 2026 is expected to feature more than 40 presentations and panel discussions involving approximately 55 speakers from 20 countries. Topics will focus on AI, hotel management, revenue optimisation, sales, marketing, sustainability, F&B and human resources.

Under the technology pillar, the event will introduce solutions that can be implemented directly, including automation, data management, smart rooms, energy management and sustainable operations.

In terms of supply, nearly 100 exhibitors are expected to present a comprehensive ecosystem of products, equipment and services for hotels, resorts, restaurants, housekeeping, wellness, interiors, facilities and operations.

At the same time, business networking and B2B trade programmes will enable investors, operators, experts and suppliers to discuss their needs directly, identify potential partners and expand opportunities for domestic and international cooperation.

Building New Competitive Capabilities for Vietnam’s Tourism Industry

HORECFEX Vietnam 2026 does not simply ask how advanced emerging technologies are. Instead, it focuses on a more practical question: how can technology be applied to improve productivity, service quality and business performance?

When knowledge, technology, supply solutions and connections are brought together on a single platform, businesses gain greater opportunities to access suitable solutions, standardise operations, optimise resources and improve the customer experience.

Expected to welcome more than 4,500 attendees, HORECFEX Vietnam 2026 continues to reinforce its position as a key meeting point for the hospitality and tourism community, technology businesses and supply chain stakeholders, supporting the digital transformation and enhanced competitiveness of Vietnam’s tourism industry.
