Da Nang, March 27, 2026 – In the prestigious and grand atmosphere of the Furama International Convention Palace (ICP), the 1st General Assembly of the Danang Event & Convention Alliance (DECA) for the 2026–2030 term officially took place. This event not only marks the birth of a professional industry organization but also reaffirms a strategic vision: to transform Da Nang into the “heart” of the MICE and events industry in Vietnam.
DECA: A Strategic “Launchpad” for Da Nang’s Event Industry
During an inspiring opening speech in the main hall of the Furama International Convention Palace (ICP), Mr. Le Dinh Nam – Chairman of the Danang Event & Convention Alliance (DECA), emphasized the necessity of establishing the alliance.
“The birth of DECA is essential and extremely timely in the context of an ever-evolving tourism market. DECA is the launchpad that allows every member to shine, while acting as an invisible but strong bond to elevate Da Nang as the leading event destination in Vietnam. Our slogan is clear: DECA – Connecting Events, Elevating Destinations.”
DECA’s mission goes beyond gathering businesses; it aims to create a symbiotic ecosystem where travel agencies, hotels, resorts, and event organizers join forces to deliver world-class products and services.
CONNECTION FORUM – MARKET REFLECTION AND 2026 TRENDS
The program opened with the Da Nang Hospitality & Events Connection Forum 2026. This served as an academic space and a platform for sharing practical experiences with the participation of leading experts.
1. Vietnam Tourism Outlook 2026 through the lens of Expert Dang Manh Phước
Mr. Dang Manh Phuoc – Co-founder and CEO of The Outbox Company, a pioneer in tourism market research in Vietnam, presented a keynote titled: “VIETNAM TOURISM OUTLOOK 2026: From Impressive Recovery to Sustainable Growth”.

Following the forum, Mr. Olivier Messmer – Team Leader of the ST4SD Project (an international cooperation initiative supported by the Swiss Government), shared a session on: “Enhancing Management and Leadership Capacity in the Hospitality Industry.”

The ST4SD project is renowned for promoting sustainable development. Mr. Olivier focused on:
- Modern Leadership Mindset: Shifting from command-and-control management to inspirational leadership.

- Swiss Standards in Vietnam: Enhancing governance capacity to compete fairly with other international destinations like Bali or Phuket.

The most significant moment of the first session was the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing Ceremony held on the grand stage of the Furama International Convention Palace (ICP). This is considered a “strategic handshake” between three powerful entities:
- Danang Hotel Association (DHA): Representing accommodation infrastructure.
- Danang Event & Convention Alliance (DECA): Representing event organization and destination promotion capacity.
- Outbox Company: Representing market intelligence and data.

This agreement is expected to create a close-knit connection platform, helping parties share customer resources, synchronize service quality, and collectively execute international media campaigns to affirm the status of “Da Nang – The City of Events.”
OFFICIAL DECA ASSEMBLY – ESTABLISHING THE LEADERSHIP FOR THE 2026 – 2030 TERM
After a sophisticated tea break in the ICP lobby, the Assembly moved into its most important legislative session.
Reports, Orientations, and Elections
The provisional Executive Board presented a report on the establishment process and activity orientations for the next 5 years. Key objectives include:
- Digitalization of member data.
- Building a closed-loop MICE service supply chain.
- Organizing international trade promotion trips (Famtrip).
With high consensus, the Assembly proceeded with the Election of the Executive Board for the new term. Elite individuals with significant influence in the events and hospitality sectors were trusted and elected to the leadership, ready to steer the DECA ship.
Introduction of the Executive Board and Assembly Resolution
The moment the new Executive Board was introduced and took their oath received resounding applause from City Leaders and delegates at the Furama International Convention Palace. The Assembly Resolution was passed as a commitment to action: Decisive, Creative, and Sustainable.
With a serious, objective, and transparent working spirit, the Assembly voted to elect the DECA Executive Board for the 2026 – 2030 term. Through the official session, the Assembly highly agreed to nominate the Presidium, including 05 elite members who are reputable experts with extensive experience in the industry:
- Mr. Luong Van Trang
- Ms. Ha Thi Dieu Vien
- Mr. Le Dinh Nam
- Ms. Truong Thi Lan Huong
- Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ha
The presence of these 5 Chairpersons along with the Executive Board members represents the diversity and strength of connectivity across sectors: Travel, Events, Accommodation, and Media. The new Executive Board officially debuted and took their oath before all delegates, committing to successfully achieving the set goals, protecting member interests, and pushing Da Nang’s event industry to the international stage.

The 1st DECA Assembly concluded at 17:30 amidst the joy of all members. Far more than just a ceremony, the event at the Furama International Convention Palace (ICP) truly became an intellectual forum where great ideas converged.
Da Nang already has blue seas, white sands, and trillion-dong resorts. Now, Da Nang has DECA – the “conductor” that will connect all these values to create world-renowned event symphonies.
