The first non-stop charter flight from Russia to Da Nang is set to take off on 26 March 2020, using 336-seat B767-300 aircraft.
The information was released by the ANEX Tourism Group at a press conference in Da Nang on Tuesday.
The event was attended by representatives from the municipal Department of Tourism, and those from travel agencies and accommodation establishments across the city.
The new non-stop service will connect Da Nang with 5 big cities of Russia, with the frequency of a flight every 10 days. Once operation, the new direct charter flights between Da Nang and Russia will bring a monthly average of between 3,000 and 3,500 passengers to the seaside city.
In his remarks at the press conference, Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Tourism Nguyen Xuan Binh highlighted the significance of the opening of the Da Nang-Russia air route in attracting even more visitors from Russia and Eastern European countries to the city in the future.
Mr Binh added his agency has cooperated well with local travel agencies and accommodation establishments to prepare for receiving a large number of Russian visitors. In addition, many interesting indoor activities and nighttime outdoor entertainment programmes will be organised in order to attract even more Russian visitors to the city.
