Logistics industry breakthrough brings together leaders of central ministries, international organizations and 350 distinguished guests
On November 14, 2024, the Forum on Da Nang Free Trade Zone – A New Driver for the Development of Da Nang City’s Logistics Sector officially took place at the Ariyana Convention Centre Danang, drawing significant attention from leading enterprises and experts in the logistics field. Jointly organized by the People’s Committee of Da Nang and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, this pivotal event provided a platform for discussing and promoting solutions to advance the city’s logistics sector in alignment with Vietnam’s National Logistics Development Strategy.
Forum Highlights
The exhibition area at the forum featured 33 booths, including one showcasing the potential of Da Nang’s logistics development, infrastructure of industrial zones, and the city’s high-tech parks. The remaining 32 booths, represented by enterprises from sectors such as transportation and forwarding, warehousing and cold chains, packaging equipment and technology, banking services, and logistics software, offered a dynamic and comprehensive view of the city’s logistics potential and diversity.
At the forum, top industry speakers and experts shared strategic ideas, experiences, and solutions to foster the development of Da Nang’s logistics industry in the new era. Discussions covered not only infrastructure and industrial zones but also supply chain improvements, the application of advanced technologies in warehouse management and transportation, and optimization of logistics processes to meet the growing demands of both domestic and international markets.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Tran Chi Cuong, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Da Nang, emphasized that the establishment of the Da Nang Free Trade Zone marks a strategic milestone. The integrated business urban model, which includes production areas, logistics centers, and commercial-service zones, leverages Da Nang’s unique development advantages. He highlighted that this initiative would attract investors, foster business connections, and enhance the city’s role in logistics and international trade.
Dr. Tran Thi Hong Minh, Director of the Central Institute for Economic Management, underlined Da Nang’s central geographical location in Vietnam as a critical advantage. This positioning allows the city to become a pioneer free trade zone, driving not only logistics but also the regional economy. Da Nang’s excellent port and transportation infrastructure provide seamless connectivity to key domestic and international economic zones, establishing a robust foundation for sustainable trade and logistics development.
